Private Label CBD Vape Hardware: Filling, and What the Device Has to Get Right

If you are filling your own oil, the hardware decision and the filling decision are the same decision. On a private label CBD vape run, you are buying an empty device that has to accept your formulation, at your temperature, on your machine, and then hold it without leaking or clogging before it reaches a customer.

This page is about that interface — what the device has to do, and what a filling line typically runs at.

What private label means here

Private label, in our part of the supply chain, is a split of responsibility:

  • We build the empty CBD vape hardware — the ceramic core, the airflow path, the battery, the housing, the finish and the branding.
  • You fill it with your own oil, under your own licence, and you own the compliance position in your market.

We are not a finished-product brand. We do not supply, fill or sell oil, nicotine or e-liquid. That is not a limitation we work around — it is the reason a brand can put its own name on the device without competing with its supplier on the fill.

Which filling machines the hardware runs on

Every model we offer is specified to work with both automatic filling machines and manual filling equipment. You do not need a different hardware version for either route, and you can start on a manual bench and move to an automated line with the same device once your volume justifies it.

What that means in practice, from the device side:

Filling routeWhat the device has to provide
Automatic lineA consistent fill port geometry, so nozzles locate the same way every cycle
Manual benchAn accessible fill point that a hand operator can reach without dismantling the unit

If you already run a specific filling machine, tell us the model and we will confirm the interface against it before you commit to a mould or a run.

Filling temperature and viscosity

Viscous distillate does not flow at room temperature. Filling lines therefore heat the oil, and the useful working window is narrower than most people expect.

What filling operations for viscous cannabinoid distillate typically run at:

ParameterTypical industry working range
Dispensing temperature, distillate45-65 °C
Dispensing temperature, where volatiles must be protectedcloser to 50 °C
Upper limit before quality damageabove 65 °C for more than brief periods
Hard ceiling100 °C — oxidation, colour darkening and irreversible flavour change

Two consequences matter more than the numbers.

First, heat is a quality risk, not just a flow setting. Pushing temperature up to make the oil move faster trades fill speed for terpene and flavour loss. The window is there to be respected, not maximised.

Second, cold is an underestimated failure mode. In a room around 18 °C, thick oil can pool at the top of the cartridge instead of reaching the atomiser, which produces a weak or burnt first draw that looks like a hardware fault and is not one.

Capping and settling after the fill

The fill is not finished when the oil goes in.

A common production rule is the flip rule: if the dispensing temperature was high enough that the oil ran thin — broadly, above 52 °C — cap the unit and store it upside down for about 10 minutes before it goes into packing. This lets the oil re-saturate the core evenly rather than sitting against one face of the ceramic.

Where the oil is especially viscous, the settling period is longer and is judged by behaviour rather than by the clock: the fill is ready when bubbles stop rising through the reservoir.

Two practical notes for a private label run:

  • Cap immediately after the fill. An open unit is an oxidising unit, and it is also an opportunity for contamination you cannot see.
  • Do not judge a device on its first draw straight off the bench. A weak or burnt first hit traces back to rest time or fill temperature far more often than to the hardware.

What the device has to do for the fill to work

The fill only performs as well as the ceramic that receives it. Our hardware uses a tri-channel ceramic body: one central vertical channel that houses the heating element, and two side channels that carry oil and let the core equalise pressure as it heats. Oil reaches the heating surface by more than one path rather than through a single bore.

The heating element runs inside the core, so the stored oil is not held directly against the heat source while the device is in use. The core geometry is specified against your oil and your device architecture rather than fixed at one figure for every model.

We would rather you test the core than take a number from us. Tell us what you are formulating and we will send our ceramic core alongside a conventional core, so you can fill both with the oil you actually sell and compare them yourself.

What we do not claim

  • We do not supply, fill or sell oil, nicotine or e-liquid. You fill the device.
  • We do not publish a viscosity figure in centipoise for your formulation. Viscosity depends on your oil, your terpene content and your temperature, and a number quoted by a hardware supplier would not describe your product.
  • We do not claim factory-side certifications we do not hold. Quality-management, cleanroom and material documentation sits with the individual factories that hold it, and we pass on the copies they release for your file.
  • We do not claim a fill temperature as our specification. The windows above are what filling operations for this class of oil typically run at; your own validation is the test that matters.

How to brief us on a private label run

Send us four things and we can answer with a real plan rather than a catalogue of CBD vape hardware:

1. Your oil — type, approximate thickness, and the temperature your filling process runs at.

2. Your filling route — automatic line or manual bench, and the machine model if you have one.

3. The device — capacity, format, finish and branding.

4. The volumes — first order and the reorder you expect.

You will get a reply within one business day with pricing, MOQ and a production schedule. If you would rather see the factory before committing, we will arrange that too.
